ALL SESSIONS WILL BE RECORDED SO IF YOU’re unable to attend All THE LIVE DATES, YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE!
PLEASE NOTE: These live sessions are Generative Writing Workshops. We read, write, and listen to other people’s writing.
This is not a lecture style workshop, and the intention of this space is not to teach you how to write or create anything. It is more so a place to practice what you know but have maybe forgotten. To learn how to rebuild creative self trust through doing. To become a better creator in this space by doing. All while creating with people from many walks of life who are interested in the same. Saying “yes” or “I don’t know how but I will try” is a big part of that.
If you are excited to experiment and/or try old things in new ways, this is the right place. If you are unwilling to do your best with things that are new or challenging, consider whether or not this is the space for you.
Participant Reviews
“I chose to continue my creative journey with Written Into Being’s second session, as I genuinely wish the first one never would have ended. Giselle has created such a warm and welcoming environment with a beautiful creative community that extends all kinds of borders. I look forward to each Sunday. Not only to do my own writing but to listen to the beauty being crafted by others. The community she has built allows for the free flow of emotions with laughs and tears galore. Closing out distractions to be intentional about my creativity has opened my life up in so many ways. The prompts provided with assignments given are so much fun to work with and go back to. I’ve come to learn so much about myself. I am looking forward to continuing with WIB III in 2022, as the first and second sessions have become such highlights from this past year. Forever grateful for this space. ”
“Participating in this workshop was an absolute inhale and exhale moment for me. Connecting to people from all corners of the world while experiencing your own growth is not something that can be explained in words.”
“The in-class exercises inspired writing I came away very proud of, and helped me dig into some of the rich places I hadn’t been able to connect with. I’m grateful to have shared space with so many writerly beings and witnessed their voices finding wings.”
“I’d recommend this to anyone. I’d recommend it to someone like my mother, who is much more of a watercolor artist than a writer, but has lost touch with and confidence in her practice since having children — and who now, being newly retired, is looking for ways to fill her time. I’d most definitely recommend it to my friends (and I have!) who, like me, are 20- or 30-somethings who often find themselves sucked in entirely by their career and social life and general existential anxiety without much extra room for self-exploration or art. I’d also definitely recommend this to people who, like my little sister who just started college, are students (of any discipline) that have an interest in writing and may need a little help in building their own creative routines and anchoring down that practice.”
